The scissor frame allows for vertical height adjustment without lateral displacement, ideally suited for treatments using a sling table. Electric or hydraulic: A question of comfort
In general, therapy tables are differentiated according to the drive used for adjustment to height, sitting position or body angle. In principle, the differences are quite simple: With a hydraulic drive, the massage table is brought into position by applying pressure to the hydraulic fluid via a lever or a foot lever. The therapist always has to use a certain amount of body strength to reach the correct and suitable position for the treatment couch. This makes hydraulic treatment couches somewhat less comfortable than electrically driven couches, but they are also always ready for use independently of a power source.
The leader in the comfort category is the electrically operated treatment couch. These couches are simply adjusted in height and position at the touch of a button. There are various options to choose from here: Rotary switch, foot switch or hand switch.The most variable of these three solutions is the height adjustment with electric all-round switch, where a bracket runs around the entire frame of the therapy couch, making it possible to operate it from any side. Our premium model, the NEXX therapy bed, is equipped with an electric drive via a rotary switch as standard.
In addition, the adjustment mechanisms via foot switch or hand switch also enable a comfortable form of electric height adjustment. Here, a "remote control" is connected to the motor of the couch via a cable. Depending on the type of treatment or couch model, this variant may also be preferable to the all-round switch. For example, physiotherapists who perform Bobath therapy usually prefer the electric hand control, as they are often on the couch with the patient and can adjust the height from there.
Maximum flexibility: The 3-part headboard
The 3-part head section promises special comfort for your patients and a significant plus in flexibility for the therapist. The advantage for your patients is that they do not have to place their arms next to their head, which avoids straining the shoulder and neck muscles.
You can upgrade this function with the so-called "twin function". The 3-part head section can also be adjusted in the opposite direction and thus offers, among other things, the possibility of treating pregnant patients in a sitting position without any problems. A three-part head section with twin function can also be used to raise the patient's leg or arms. This feature is available in the SVG online shop exclusively for Nexx treatment couches as an additional option.
General questions about therapy tables
The question of whether you prefer an electric or hydraulic therapy couch depends largely on the desired comfort. The electric height adjustment is certainly more comfortable and smooth-running, while hydraulic therapy couches are usually not only cheaper but also independent of a power source and thus somewhat more flexible or mobile than the electric solution.
For the majority of our therapy tables, we rely on "Made in Germany" production. E.g. our therapy table Vento and Nexx product lines are produced in Germany.
A basic distinction is made between the scissor-type frame and the tilt-angle or parallelogram frame. The advantage of the scissor frame is the vertical height adjustment. This means that the position of the lying surface is kept constant during height adjustment. This can be particularly advantageous for sling therapy. In contrast, treatment couches with a tilting angle frame are usually less susceptible to vibrations and are thus indicated above all in manual therapy, where the therapist's impulses should not be cushioned by the frame.
The warranty period for production and material defects of our own products (e.g. the Vento therapy couch series) is two years. In the case of hydraulic therapy tables, this also applies to the hydraulic cylinder. On our premium model, the "Nexx" treatment couch, we even grant a special guarantee of 5 years (excluding upholstery).
